As the coronavirus pandemic has continued it is clear to me that we need to extend the period during which our church will not meet in person. I originally said we would not meet in person until at least after Sunday, March 29. I am now extending that date through at least Sunday, April 19. I do this with a heavy heart, knowing that these dates include Holy Week, which is April 5 – 12.  But we will make every effort to find ways to gather virtually for worship and to keep in touch in other ways. I am also working with our worship planning group to design online worship services for Holy Week to the best of our abilities.

Since it is impossible to know how long we will need to remain shut down, we will not try to reschedule any cancelled activities right now. As we get closer to the end of March we will consider how we will handle Holy Week and Easter activities coming up in April. For now we will continue to have church office hours during the week.

I know this is an unsettling time for all of us, to say the least. But please remember that our church community remains intact even when we are not meeting face to face. Continue to check in with one another by phone and email. And remember that ours is a faith that places its hope and trust in God, whose grace is especially available to us in difficult times like these.
